Look, I agree - science needs to be popularized- and honestly, I have worked at that on an individual level and on an institutional level... with success...
It is important to share the fact that science is even more wonderous than any pseudoscience.... BUT it is also important to attack pseudoscience... because pseudoscience tries to be so seductive- YOU have seen that!
You act like those that point out the pseudoscientific lies are nothing more than 'religious fanatics'- that simply is NOT the case- you have to understand that some ideas and beliefs are just WRONG. Hoagland and his ilk are easily shown to be wrong, those that claim we never landed on the moon are easily proven WRONG, the pseudoscientific ramblings of some on this board have been shown to be WRONG- It is not scientific arrogance- it is scientific FACT...
The scientific method CAN make declarations of fact- it isnt like religion where you can argue and kill people over what person is the true messiah... it isnt like politics where you can argue forever about what is the best philosophy... THERE IS AN OBJECTIVE REALITY!
Some people simply are detached from that reality and say things that are WRONG! Pointing out that fact is NOT oppression, it is stating the facts- we are not obligated to respect the views of lunatics...
