Very nicely written, Tom - a powerful expression of your marriage. It sounds like you are both lucky to have each other.
As you put forward, marriage isn't always easy, and a lot of people take it lightly or lazily. Not too many face as tough a challenge as MS, though serious illnesses seem to either strengthen or break relationships. Our closest married friends have lived with MS for almost 20 years and they have a stronger marriage than most. Newer medications seem to keep coming along that help, but it's hard.
