I do keep backups - I have two drives on my main machine, plus I regularly back up the most important files to a laptop and to a memory stick.
But actually, my 98 machines have been crashless for years. There are still 3 on the network, two of which have been running 24 hours a day for 7 years or more. Knock on wood.
If I have a crash in the next few days, I'm blaming you, Scott! :)
