The key will be to divide and multiply Gaia

Space/Science » in reply to stating the obvious---all about cost to get out of gravity well

If the Earth really is an organism then it must divide and multiply or face extinction.

Think of a spacecraft as a living cell. Then think of the Humans inside of the spacecraft as self-repairing strands of DNA that can also repair damaged cell walls, build new cells, etc...

We have a long way to go...But I am confident that some of us will get there. (Most won't)
