If you look at the space station it really is a fragile single celled organism.
It could be put into hibernation. It requires frequent nurishment from Mother Earth. And it relies heavily on it's human (DNA Programing) to repair and maintain itself.
I suppose if it was a dual keel design with each keel capable of independant survivel, then we could say it was a 2 cell organism...And thus slightly less fragile.
