Do you think this New York Times leak of yet more classified information was helpful in this situation or not?

The ABC news on the radio says there is cause and effect. I'm not seeing anything about Sadr forcing this. The White House declares that neither Sadr or the memo had anything to do with the cancelled meeting. Others are speculating that the leak was deliberate from the White House to send some signals to Malaki.

Was anything in this memo information that the American public absolutely had to know, or was this just another media monkey wrench thrown at Bush?
