I cant think of one either...
In this age of instant communication pretty much anywhere on the globe, what could possibly be the justification for transporting a person to the other side of the planet in a couple of hours? Even for warfere it hardly seems like a serious plus, given the limited number of people a likely transport could carry....
Its a neat 'Gee whiz' concept, but as a practical idea it seems to be lacking...
