Now is no time to discuss restrictions on guns.
Not at the height of emotions after an incident like this. After all, it wasn't the guns which killed the people, it was a nut with a gun. And only very few nuts with guns kill people, very few, hardly any, pretty rare. And if we didn't have such restrictions on guns, someone would have seen what he was up to and shot him, saving lives.
Now IS the time to discuss maybe having a loaded gun on every lamppost or parking meter so that these people might be shot before they get very many. Or for settling arguments outside taverns.
It's a shame to see these things happen. We need to have more guns out there.
