I think his delusions are indeed classic but they are not reserved to fascism.
The story he wrote is very sad to me because it reminds me of my oldest grandson. He was small and shy and he was bullied mercilessly when he was in school. His reaction was to choose a homosexual life* instead of becoming a spree killer. Both choices are due to lack of adequate support and inability to deal with bullying.
*Yes, I believe that sexual preference can be a choice, (otherwise why does bi-sexual exist?). I agree that it is genetic in some instances but it is sometimes a matter of choice. In the case of my grandson we have accepted his choice and we all love him and support his choice.
Maybe someday we will understand the human brain well enough to prevent the bullying behavior that tortures some individuals and creates monsters like Elliot Rodger.
