Sputnik sightings...
RE seeing Sputnik pass overhead...unless it's become some apocryphal dream, there was a shiny, consistently moving object, travelling at speeds much greater than anything else, and apparently much higher, clearly visible...my Father was a serious spacenut, involved in vehicle research, so I guess he may have been able to expand my vision with suggestion...I was 12...but, I don't think so...
I also spent hours looking for Leica...but never got so much as a glimpse...creeps!
