I don't think this eliminates any of my suggested systems.

It would require loosing the wings sooner than drogue chutes and you probably could keep the retrorockets almost to ground if needed. Each offer different advantages. Drogue chutes probably wouldn't need a lot of control but lots of testing, redesign and more testing. Thus would cost. Retrorockets would need lots of fuel and control and offer some obvious dangers with fire and explosions possible.
