"What's that about?"

Funny, YOU only spit at tax time.
All the rest of the time you just bitch.
(Shoulda put your answer on Flame, Tom).

45 million people have no choice to premium health care OR preventative testing. Diabetes, heart disease, and cancer often go undetected because of expensive tests. Colonoscopies, MRI's, PET scans, blood tests, etc... run in the THOUSANDS of dollars, just to get started.
With follow-up doctor visits and medications and more tests, it's over five grand just to find out what's going on. And then it's pretty much hopeless if your uninsured and you have a life-threatening condition.

Some hospitals you can't get into for treatment for a serious condition unless you practically give them the deed to your house. Oh, families of four or five making over $50,000 a year, (probably with both parents working) simply can't afford that. A mortgage, home equity loan, two car payments and three kids in school. Plus credit card debt.
An accident or life-threatening illness can drain the family reserves and put them in debt in less than six months.

Your
>"Is destroying this in favor of nationalized health care something to rush into? " is annoying. Why don't you ask the 45 million uninsured?

Regulation does not have to destroy the system as it is set up; but the insurance companies are making a killing out of the way it is set up. And because of that, law suits are out of control and doctors raise their rates to help pay for their skyrocketing insurance. From what I've heard, workers are paying exorbitantly higher premiums and are leaving jobs because it's eating up a larger percentage of their paycheck.

THAT kind of mandatory price gouging needs to be stopped.
