Technology happened.
When my 2 oldest kids (the 60s) were born I had no insurance to speak of and their hospital bills were each less than $2000.
Of course about all the hospital provided back then was a birthing room and hopefully sterile conditions. Now everything involved with a hospital involves a battery of high tech equipment. Combine this with the general healthcare inflation and it is out of control.
The whole point is who pays and that is the reason why there is no healthcare program and nothing is on the horizon. I have no answers and neither do the libs. They don't like to talk about the cost because it becomes quickly apparent that it does not compute.
Furthermore, implying we are like a third world country does not make it so. No one is starving and our death rate is not upside down due to bad health care. Could things be better? Sure they could, come up with workable solutions, I'll listen.
