You and I probably agree on this one that Hillary could not be ruled out as the source. The one Achille's Heel the Clinton's have always had is a major ego problem. Bill diddled Monica not because she was hot but because he was the most in the most powerful position in the world and wasn't getting any from his wife. His ego couldn't handle a loss of sexual power.

I think he and Hillary are much alike in that aspect. She has been assuming for the past decade that she'd be the natural choice of the Democrats for this upcoming presidential run and her ego is fed by that knowledge. I believe it consumes her much as his did. For some young upstart to suddenly grab the national stage must hit her to the core. I think because of that trait she's capable of extremely dirty politics to protect her dream.

Now, I'm not saying that she's the source of this. There are Republicans that have just as much or even more motivation to make a charismatic Democrat look bad. I'm simply saying that your theory isn't as far off as others may be saying. That's not to say that you don't deserve a bashing for style. Generally, it feels like your first instinct is to look for the link most damaging to the Democrats and not acknowledge the other possibility until you have to.
