More advances in battery technology
This looks promising, but it remains to be seen if it works out as advertised. They claimed to have solved the "crash followed by thunderbolt" issue with supercapacitors.
I still have high hopes for the Chevy Volt, and it would be great if a major U.S. car company could carry this off.
