That's funny, Tom. You and I have agreed in the past that Kerry was a totally inadequate candidate, and indeed, that it was embarrassing for Democrats to have lost in 2004. He phoned it in, and at critical junctures (e.g. as related by Terry MacAuliffe in his recent book), declined to fight back as hard as he needed to. Kerry went in expecting to be beaten, and of course he was. The Democrats won't field a sacrificial lamb in 2008.
