I disagree with Bell.
The argument that a private company can't do something for a couple of hundred million just because a government project has spent a billion on similar ideas doesn't carry a lot of weight with me.
The words "rank amateurs" are unfair. I'm familiar with the people doing the work at both SpaceX and RpK, and "rank amateurs" they are not.
I can't speak to NASA's motivations in funding this project, but the idea that it's not possible is not a valid part of the argument.
The biggest mistake Bell is making is assuming that without the ISS, these vehicles will have no place to go. I think he's going to be surprised.
I do agree that NASA should have picked t/Space. ;)
