"After having failed like that, Bush is still president?????"
He won re-election. He can only be removed legally by impeachment.
"That would not happen over here! Even in France, the president would have no more power for anything, once his parties become minorities."
And that's why America is great and France sucks.
We have one guy in charge in foreign policy and absolute power over our military. Plus he controls our executive branch of the govt. His power is checked by Congress which is solely responsible for funding- the congress has absolute control over whether any money goes to the military or anyone in the govt. The congress can say do such and such with the military or no money can be spent- and without money the military couldn't function- it couldn't buy jet fuel nor food for soldiers to eat. The Congress has withheld funding for many things that president wished money be spent on, but Congress is loath to interfere too much by withholding funds which the President claims are vital to national security. But if they did so, they would trigger another check in our govt: the judicial branch.
Another check is our Senate in which the minority has the power to delay laws passed by filibustering.
"Even more, conservatives now go after democrats because they are "undecided" about what to do about the war which they (democrats) would never have started without being sure of the reasons and the international community....That's complete blackmail."
No it isn't. The President is the Commander in Chief. The President should consult Congress but Congress isn't in charge of the war. Democrats have made a large number of wild claims regarding the war. They claimed they would end the war, but it's quite wild claim. It's like saying I'm going to flap my arms and fly- and dumb Rep opponents I'm running an election against are too scared to flap their arms and fly. Elect me I'm superman.
"Anyway, when are americans going to blame the one responsible for that mess? Never? He'll be pardoned? Can the US recover from not punishing him enough?"
Bush has couple more years in office. After that we will build some aircraft carrier and name it after him.
"Bush lied" and "Impeachment" are slogans for keep the nuttiers happy. Will the Dems "hold investigations"? Probably, but it would be for the entertainment value and appeasing the clueless.
