"don't believe your own propaganda"
Does it bother you at all that you swallow this swill constantly? Without the slightest bit of analysis at all? Maybe your problem isn't sausages, but MSNBC.
Look at the article:
Some in Congress and others outside the Army are beginning to question the switch, which is not widely known. They wonder whether it means the Army is cutting corners in preparing soldiers for combat, since they are forgoing training in a desert setting that was designed specially to prepare them for the challenges of Iraq.
Really.
"Some in Congress..." I'm counting exactly one Congresswoman in this article. Maybe she has a tapeworm.
I have no idea who the "others outside the Army" are supposed to be. Everybody quoted in the article except Murray seems to think this isn't going to be a serious problem.
Kevin Ryan "doubts this approach will significantly distract from the soldiers' degree of preparation for Iraq." Daniel Goure of the Lexington Institute, says it "shouldn't have a decisive impact."
The paragraph excerpted above is, basically, an editorial comment by the news writer. The word "tinker" is also from the writer.
Basically, according to this article, the only two people with their undies in a bunch about this are Patty Murray and whoever wrote this article for her.
Other issues ignored include the percentage of ALL deployments that have had such training, indicating either a real trend or something that's been routine all along.
The butt-ignorance of the press about matters military is a constant source of amusement and high frustration to those actually in the military.
