Mercury: Yes, they do contain it. There was a piece on Marketplace a couple weeks ago about the issue. Proper disposal sites are hard to find, impossible in remote/rural areas.

I haven't decided yet whether to switch to CFs when I move to my own place (May or June). Probably will, though -- I suspect a disposal facility will be reasonably nearby.
