Planetary Defense Outlook & Costs

Looks like it would cost about 10exp9 dollar$ to detect most of those pesky NEOs less than 150m in diameter. Me, I'd hate to pay for the survey and then leave critical decision making to the inept and corrupt UN. But then again, the crisis IS planetary in scope.
