I don't have what it takes to blast in all directions in fractions of a second like my son does. He cleaned up God of War II in about four hours. He rents most games--no point in buying one you're going to beat in a day. I'm also impressed by his problem solving intution on puzzles, too. I like the latter in games, and am a big "Myst" fan.
In Dark Forces I was big on ambushes, laying mines, and predicting the rather primitive reactions of the computerized characters to the point where I could have some form of deadliness waiting when they got to a certain point. In my view, if the other guy SEES you, you aren't doing something right. That little gun that shot blue bolts could clear out a room from a distant window twenty minutes before you actually arrived there...
In any game where I was playing a real person, I would be dead meat on a hook.
Beat "Riven" and "Myst III" without a single hint, though.

Last "shooter" I played was "Dark Forces" on a Mac.
