It sounds like a fun computer, and there's something about building one and having it actually work! Good kid.

My biggest mistake with radios was making a "powerline antenna". To do that you take about an 8 foot extension cord, cut one wire near the plug and strip that wire for the antenna jack. The "live" wire is snipped and the end insulated, so that the radio signal is induced into the "dead" wire.

I had an old extension cord, and hooked the "live" wire to my set. I grabbed the earphones, and had a helluva time putting them down.

Dumb. Not the dumbest thing I've done, but could have been the last really dumb thing had I been wearing the earphones.
