I've been had!
But you have to admit, waiting until April 3 is not fair. Last year, NPR got me with their classic on exploding sugar maple trees, but even half way through that I got hip (it sounded like an artillery barrage in the background) while the interviewer and farmer were having a calm discussion on how trees that are not frequently tapped for syrup often detonate from excessive sap pressure, causing extensive injuries and property damage.
I will get my vengeance. The mills of the gods grind slow, but exceedingly fine; and revenge
is a dish best served cold.
