In a fight for our way of life, we fight until we win.
Soldiers dying in battle is a sad thing, but soldiers fight, and sometimes they die. Same applies for cops, firefighters, and other dangerous occupations. Soldiering is a dangerous affair. We give our troops the best training, weaponry, and equipment to keep their loses to a minimal, but war is still a dangerous business.
We lose nearly 20,000 people a year due to drunk driving, so are we going to hear Ted Kennedy talk about stopping alcohol sales....um, nevermind.
