The point is that those nations doing everything exactly according to the liberal prescriptions are not finding themselves that much safer from the Islamists.
Read the article. Al Qaeda is not going after Spain because the U.S. is in Iraq. They are going after Spain to put it under their way of life.
This would be true even if we had never come near Iraq, a simple fact that people like you dodge like a kid trying not to eat a spoonful of medicine.
It's a gaping hole in your comfortable "It's All Bush's Fault" scenario, and you can't really handle it. Hence the non-sequitor post.
