"Sunni demand could unravel Iraqi government."

The Bush Administration's refusal to devote the military assests necessary to "win" this struggle, the disbanding of the civil infrastructure (a cardinal sin if one wants stability), the discrimination against Sunnis, the throwing out of the Baathists have lead to failure and defeat.

The Iraqi Shiite majority can't live with the Sunnis, can't live without them, and the US is caught in the quagmire.

Winning, for the US, is not an option. Oh, the US can stay, and stay and stay, without anything changing except the situation getting worse.

It would take a leader with that vision thing to get out. A leader with courage, guts, and at least one foot planted in reality.
