The Democrats and their flunkies spent a huge amount of time and effort to nail Bush in an actual lie prior to the 2004 elections. The rant about the "16 Words" went on for weeks, but to little avail.

Having crapped out on both that attack and the election, the leftists (the Democratic politicians are usually too smart to go that route now) have settled for simply repeating "Bush lied" over and over again in hopes that repetition will make it true. It works on people with simple brains, and they tend to vote Democratic.

The Democratic Party, on the other hand, knew damn well prior to the 2006 election that they were going to jump into the pork trough with both feet if they got into power, but continued to act as though they were going to take corruption and undue influence out of government.

How's William Jefferson doing lately?
