I have been on holidays and left this thread open.
Stories like this just DO NOT make the mainstream.
Here in the US, it's the "giggle factor" and the fact that ufo reports rarely even make the back page of a newspaper.

They are not taken seriously, mostly from a campaign of disinformation coming out of our own government.
That is WHY there is something called a "Disclosure Project" that is organized and trying to bring the publics' attention to decades of military and scientific silence on it. The more a bizarre case it is, the more the cover-up and disinformation is loaded into it.

I had heard about these cases in Brazil about 20 years ago due to correspondence with an author here in the US who translates all these sightings into English and meticulously documents all cases as they are released. Actually, this case and others like it were fairly frightening, as many people were badly burned. It's possible that some government was doing high tech testing and the villagers of Colares were the victims. Either way, the fact a documentary was made is proof enough for me that this event really happened.
