Am I still talking to the same people who insisted we should have left the Baathists in charge of things in Iraq? You know, "former officers from Saddam's military" as the article puts it?
Have you actually thought about this at all? What it entails for the long run? Or is this more mental knee-jerk from a news source that has an axe to grind?
This is not "an alliance of last resort," this is the result of long and complex negotiations in Anbar and elsewhere that have been going on for months.
