Thompson's got a ways to go to get the nomination.
He appeals to the base, but if he starts showing a credible threat to the Democrats, the Hillary SWAT teams and the media are going to hit him with everything they've got. Believe that they've already got squads of researchers out looking for dirt.
How Thompson behaves under the withering fire he's going to get will tell us if he's up for this.
