This was the English version of American Idol
The average Brits are more appreciative of opera than the average American. I'll listen to it if there is a great voice behind it and a lot of emotion but I detest the caterwauling of some of the music in operas. But the beautiful pieces are priceless. Musetta's Waltz from La Boheme just transports me every time I hear it. It's like climbing to another level of existence where the music is the world and exquisite beauty vibrates through every pore of my body.
