1) nothing "suddenly" enters Earths gravitational field. Gravcity scales as 1/R^2. thinmgs get closer. after a while, Earth's gravity is more than the Sun, or whatever.

2) a 4m rock will burn up in the atmosphere with no malign influence

3) If it is, indeed, a spent rocket stage, then there is NO DANGER
