I have gotten so used to hassle that when something actually goes without a hitch, I feel as though I have won the lottery!..How sad! It is lifes' daily annoyances that beat you down, and we don't even realize it, because we acquiesce....{as if we have a choice in the matter}. It becomes the new normal.
Mom needed a re-up on her blood pressure medicine. When I went to the pharmacy they informed me that it was not time. They told me they issued 90 pills...good for 3 months. Now I administer her medicine to her every day. I KNOW that they did not give me 90. I can not prove they gave me only 30. The pharmacist informs me that I will have to pay for the 60 out of my pocket. I go home and call the Dr. I tell the nurse what happened and she said I need to come to the office for free samples to get Mom through the next 2 months. Fair enough.
Fort Worth has been DELUGED with rain for quite some time. Flash flood warnings justifiably abound. It starts to pour as I head to the Drs...and I don't want to chance driving through downtown Fort Worth traffic, during rush hour.
I need milk. Check. Go to Wal-Mart and get that first. Rain will abate ( I cross my fingers)
For chuckles and grins, I go to the pharmacy. I tell the young man this "I can not prove you folks gave me only 30 pills..even though I paid for 90...THAT IS OKAY...How much for a one months' supply...I will pay the FULL price."(THinking I could get the last 30 pills later this month, at the Drs.)
Then a VERY strange thing happened....WITHIN 2 minutes...he simply hands me 60 blood pressure pills...FREE!!!!!.
I left like a bat outta hell in case he had a change of heart...
Just when you expect a hassle
