You see, Pharmacies have to keep immaculate records. EVERY pill must be accounted for. Anyone raising suspicions about a pharmacy short-changing them on pills could end up with an investigation which would turn over every rock they ever put a pill under.
Just a suggestion: Count your pills every time! There was one pharmacy I used to deal with that consistently shorted me. I called them every time and they made it good. I finally talked to them about it and it didn't happen to ME again. Don't know if it happened to anyone else. I deal with HyVee Pharmacy now and have had no problems. I get what I pay for.
They can short you one or two pills and you might not notice that you're running a day or two earlier than you should since there's usually a delay between you get your scrip filled and start taking the new pills. So count 'em! Until you're satisfied they're not shorting you.

I'd just bet they checked their records after you left the 1st time
