Grantchester and the associated meadows are situated Southwest of Cambridge, adjacent to the river. One can glide there on a punt or walk to Grantchester for afternoon tea.

"Does the clock strike Half-past Three?"

Grantchester is also mildly notorious as the home village of Jeffrey Archer.

I had the good fortune to spend 3 years in Cambridge with my young family while I researched for my Ph.D, and I stayed in college accommodation close to Grantchester Meadows, so it is a very familiar scene to me.

I remember the thunderstorms more than the flakes of sunlight...
