The last post on the official site was from the beginning of the storm about how the rover is being delayed from entering the crater, nothing about the recent activity and the very scary possibilities of rover failure if this continues at this level.

UnmannedSpaceflight.com gets posts daily from mission team members and JPL staff and is almost always days ahead of official releases. Have you visited recently? Certainly they get people on there that are amateurs but it's easy to distinguish them and Doug does a wonderful job of shutting down any b.s.
