I read that post and I did not challenge it because I saw nothing obviously incorrect about it. My point is that this isn't just a French disease (although they have historically been particularly prone to it).
It is the nature of companies operating away from their own government regulatory structures and the scrutiny of their own press. Some are more evil than others, but they are all prone to it. Market competition turns to drive them all to more evil, rather than out of it. After all, individual people may be good, but people in collectives act as a single selfish organism. And collectives (companies, corporations, firms, etc), of course, were not invented by Karl Marx.
Have you read the allegations of Middle Eastern contractors working for us in Iraq being involved in slave labor, kidnapping, and other crimes against their workers? The US cannot be blamed for this directly, it can correctly claim it "had no idea what they were doing", but that's one of the reasons we sub out the hard jobs, isn't it?
