From the diversity of species to our cells, chance plays a key role in all steps of the living. To the point that without it, there'd be no life.
If everyone of us is unique, it's due to chance.
Systems most able to build chance have lasted longest.
Chance is in that way, master of our origin, our identity and our fate.
Carole Knibbe has studied a simulation about genome structuration, using computers that become randomness composers (aevol simulation). Through computers, it's possible to see the evolution of life, live. Proving chance is an engine for creation.
However, chance frightens people. Because man tries to control nature.
Some people believe they are themselves authors of their own development, that they can master what they'll become, while others believe an external force is such that we're not here by chance, that there is an intention outside of us (preferably divine).
Those who oppose the evolution theory need a submission to an order. They won't accept that life has no purpose. They have a big anxiety towards chance.
It's no wonder: chance is not acceptable to those who have a finalist vision, because the evolution has no project.
What if Life owed everything to...chance?
