Having a French supplied nuclear Iran, would possibly escalate matters and its patently clear Bush has no inclination of destroying the Franco-Russo-Iranian nuclear complexes. Another Bush Administration failure and concession to our enemies. (Though they actually might like it, because they could sell them all that nuclear equipment again clandestinely and quasi-clandestinely over the next fifteen years) By supplying the Sauds and Israel with the specialized type of munitions to do so, they will have that option in a few years.
