And could a strong SA help prevent war in the first place? Or even prevent Iran from mischief elsewhere? I don't pretend to know the answers to these questions, but that's why we elect leaders to deal with these problems. Hopefully, those leaders will have enough knowledge of the area and of our interests to make the right decisions.
This is the responsibility we place upon our leaders, and it is our responsibility to monitor and judge those decisions, and either support or replace that leadership if necessary.
