$1T a small amount!?
You know nothing of what you speak! It may not be what it once was but $1T is still a staggering sum of wealth. Can we afford it? Sure. And yes I know all the arguements that we are spending most of it here and thus it stays in our economy, but almost anything would be better to spend it on than this Iraq mess.
What would $1T do to convert America from oil dependency? What would it do for cancer or AIDS research? To truly fight the war on terror? To clean up the environment? Rebuilding the Big Easy? Space exploration? It's difficult to think of things that are not as wasteful as the Iraq War.
