If you meant you'd like to have a beer with him next, that's a bit more understandable. HOWEVER, from my experience, which is limited but not insignificant, politicians in the active phase of their careers are deadly boring, always campaigning, always talking about what they've done, always playing to the folks around them.

Searching for syncophants, they'll stomp over their own spouses, children, parents, anyone to curry to the crowd.

A beer with any of them would be absolutely dreadful. I'd buy 'em a beer, and/or a beer to drink with someone for whom I didn't care, anytime. But with me? Nope.
