Just use your own senses
Freeman Dyson on the Edge ‘The Third Culture’ tells us;
“My first heresy says that all the fuss about global warming is grossly exaggerated. Here I am opposing the holy brotherhood of climate model experts and the crowd of deluded citizens who believe the numbers predicted by the computer models.â€
and then
It is much easier for a scientist to sit in an air-conditioned building and run computer models, than to put on winter clothes and measure what is really happening outside in the swamps and the clouds. That is why the climate model experts end up believing their own models.
It’s this kind of thinking from someone that should know better that causes a lot of the problem. Dyson is in effect telling us that we should believe our own senses rather than the experts in the field. I would ask him if he would rather depend on a voltmeter to measure the voltage supplied to his home dryer (science) or just place his fingers across the circuit (own senses).
