You ducked the main point, which is that entitlements dwarf all the other government programs, including the military, and the critical point, which is that this is going to get a lot worse in following decades. Read the link.
Pensions once were about people and companies investing income during a lifetime, and living off of actual wealth created, not just redistributing wealth from one citizen to another. This is a crucial difference, like that between a governments and private citizens borrowing and lending money. It's going to come back to bite us.
