Hey, I'm not saying your wrong. Old white guys are at the root of many of society's most noxious weeds...but this one...I dunno.
My own opinion on gun legislation is...evolving. I met a guy a while back who told me about the time he was set upon by a mugger. He stopped the would-be criminal in his tracks simply by pulling out his gun. The mugger ran off, no shots were fired...exactly the sort of story you'll never hear on the news. "And in Central Park today, a mugging didn't happen. A gun was pulled, but no shots fired. Everyone's ok."
The guy was quite certain that if he hadn't had the gun, he would have, at a minimum, wound up in hospital. Who am I to tell him that being beaten by a mugger would have been the best outcome? Clearly, his possession of a legal firearm produced a much better outcome.
