I can't understand 'em.
Bought a Dell computer for a friend a couple of years ago. Had a woman named "Lakshmi", which means "something valuable". Anyway it was a hassle. Hard to understand her, hard for her to understand me. However, I got so far into it that I didn't want to start over anywhere else, and my elderly friend wanted nothing but a Dell. Liked the guy in the commercials.
We stuck it out for an interminable time, finally getting the order completed. It was a struggle, and my heart went out to her. She was clearly trying her best, as was I. And we got it done, after an unconsciously long time. However, I absolutely could not get her to get my name right. To this day I get mail from Dell addressed to the equivalent of "Dowser".
At the end of the transaction she was so grateful I suspect she wet herself. She said I was the nicest customer she had ever had, the most considerate (sounded like that, anyway), and so on and on and on. I was embarrassed.
I suspect I'm the only one that stuck it out to the end.
