That particular work is now in excess of 350,000 words, I sort of got used to the dialect/language/pattern thing.
But, you're right, maintaining dialect, language subsets and distinctive speech patterns is difficult. In fact, it is one of the hardest things for me to do.
The patterns I use in that work is sort of middle English/Shakespearean/ Elizabethan. No 'and', 'or', 'the' in it until second version.
