Well I couldn't get it working on either WEP or WPA. I spent 20 minutes on hold with linksys and gave up for lack of time. They didn't have anything helpful on their website and my router is apparantly too old to be supported with their live chat.

So I decided to leave the thing unencrypted, but dissallowed all the mac addresses except mine. It makes it look open to the public but I don't think they can connect unless they spoof my mac address, and they'd have to know it to do it. Unfortunatly I don't have another machine to test with though.

One weird hiccup that this whole thing left is that the connection constantly says disconnected even when its connected. weird, but it works. When I get time I'll probably reinstall the pci wireless card to see if that fixes it. I'll feel better when I'm not broadcasting an open network, even though I have it locked down as tight as I can.
