I've noticed an absolute, dead silence in the news stories on anything having to do with his party, background, or history with the department down there. People at his level are hired, not appointed politically.

My main point is that the leftist blogosphere has widely labeled this man as a Republican with, to the best of my knowledge so far, zero evidence.

most of the sexual perverts and hypocrites making national news lately have been Republican.

There's more than one conclusion that can be drawn from that.
